Producer Story

Suke Quto Farm stretches across the highlands and valleys of Ethiopia’s Odo Shakisso district, where fertile volcanic soil and thoughtful land stewardship define the landscape. Founder Tesfaye Bekele maintains soil health through organic practices, recycling nutrients naturally through leaf litter and root systems from both coffee and shade trees. All coffees produced here are Organic and Rainforest Alliance certified, reflecting a deep commitment to sustainability.

Tesfaye works alongside 171 outgrowers who deliver cherries to Suke Quto’s washing and drying stations, building a strong network of smallholder farmers across the region. In addition, he manages over 200 hectares of his own land in the Guji highlands, where seasonal workers support the harvest and processing of these carefully cultivated coffees.

The Process

Cherries are selectively harvested and delivered to Suke Quto’s washing and drying stations, where they are processed with precision and care. The combination of high elevation, fertile soil, and attentive processing helps preserve the integrity of each lot while highlighting the vibrant character of coffees from Guji.

The Cup

This coffee opens with floral aromatics and a lively, fruit-forward sweetness. Notes of dried fruit and blueberry carry through a silky body, balanced by a delicate green tea finish that adds structure and clarity to the cup.
